Kossel 250 V-Slot LED Lighting Kit


  • 24v LED Light Strip - 0.9 meter (3") 
  • Pre-terminated 22awg Leadwire (x2)


  • Cut the LED strips in 3 equal sections
  • Cut one of the 2 leadwire to 7cm lenghts (x2)
  • Solder 3 strips together (OBSERVE POLARITY)
  • Solder the other leadwire to one end (OBSERVE POLARITY)
  • Center strip on bottom side of each upper frame extrusion
  • Route connector wires behind belts
  • Route leadwire down vertical column to PSU
  • Cover with V-Slot Slot Cover (sold separately)
  • Use Braided Sleeving 1/8" if desired to cover connector wires (sold separately)

    Very bright. Installs in about an hour. Used self-adhesive backing and clips mentioned in other review. Easy to solder (though upside-down does make soldering very interesting).
    Like Matt W, I built the enclosure and these work very well together (blocking some of the downward glare).
    I wired in such a way that I did not have to move my endstops down.

    This is a cheap and great upgrade for your printer. I didn't purchase this kit separately but it was included as part of the Kossel 250 V-Slot BSE delta kit. If this wasn't included with my printer then I would have bought this separately without hesitation.

    I applied mine directly to the frame using the self-adhesive backing. I later learned that UltiBots has STL files for some mounting clips. The clips allow you to use the LED's without having to permanently attach them to the frame. This really isn't an issue now but may be a useful option later if you need to remove them to perform repairs and maintenance on your printer.

    The LED's are blinding bright! The print area is fully illuminated. If you build and install the enclosure (http://www.ultibots.com/delta-enclosure-hardware-kit/) then the white corrugated plastic reflects more of the light to the print area for even better lighting. I installed a power switch in my LCD holder and wired it in series on the positive 24v lead. This allows me to turn the LED's on only when needed.

    These are protected for reverse voltage. I know this because I inadvertently wired the positive to the black wire. I must have been thinking about AC wiring when I soldered them :). When I attached them to my 24V PSU to test my soldering, they did not illuminate. I quickly realized my mistake and turned off the PSU. I fixed the wiring and attached it to the PSU with the correct polarity. They lit up with no apparent damage.

    The wiring will require you to move one of your endstops down a bit to leave room for the wires to exit the channel. I filed a small notch in the endstop. This allowed me to place the endstop directly against the top frame corner for maximum z-height.
