Great hotend, hard to find since it is not in production anymore. I recommend buying the wiring kit and the cartridge heater (so you can use the PTFE wire from it and crimp it to the resitor).

This is my first 3D printer head, so I have no comparisons to make, but my half a dozen PLA plastic prints have been point and click with no issues and no jams.
My only difficulty was the muffler putty was dry and crinkly, and did not hold or stick. I ended up using the "tinfoil" installation method.
I wished I had known that the putty could have been reconstituted with water before I threw it away, but that minor issue does not warrant removing a star.
The item was shipped quickly and was well packaged.

I had the stock hot end and I was getting prints that I thought were good. My black was a dull color and my prints were sort of smooth. Then I installed this hot end. I went from the normal 0.5mm hot end to the Jhead 0.35mm hot end. No other settings were changed. My prints are glossy black and so smooth I can rub cloth on them and not feel any friction. I love it. I wish I had upgraded my hot end 3 months ago when I was building my printer. I recommend a Jhead upgrade, Amazing results.

I am a Chinese 3D printer users. We are using Makebot2X. When I get your product made me feel a bit rough. Also I am engaged in the machining industry hope you can improve on some of the machining process. This is just a personal view.

The J-Head Mk V-BV sold to you was OEM from www.hotends.com. It is not machined by Ultibots, just re-sold. It is one of our most popular items and performs excellently.

I've owned and used a ton of variations on the Reprap hotend. With ~1.75 filament, there arent a whole lot of good options out there. The hotend is the single most important thing to 3d printing. Your axis' could be sloppy, electronics could be cheap, and you could be running a $50 netbook. All these things will not be as critical when it comes to producing 3d printed parts. Like a plotter without a pen, a good hotend is very important. This hotend filed my needs. No other hotend i have tried was able to extrude ~1.75 filament as easily and smoothly as the JHead.
I would give this hot end a 5, but there appears to be some leaking when printing in PLA. Im not sure if its a leak or not, but it had some gunk build up.

From www.hotends.com, "The J-Head Mk IV-B has been proven to print reliably with both ABS and PLA. (PLA will require a small fan to provide air-flow through the cooling vents milled in the sides of the nozzle holder.)" Try the popular Ultibots fan duct... http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:61407

I ordered this over the weekend, it was shipped on Monday, arrived in MA on Wednesday and I assembled it in probably 30 minutes or so. Had a question about assembly which was answered quickly and completely.
Here's a photo of the finished JHead read to install on my Rostock MAX:
